Beauty Army - December

I have been a member of Beauty Army for a long time, but I very rarely actually get a box - normally, there aren't 6 items I want that pop up for me and I skip. Beauty Army is different than most sub services because it allows you to choose your own samples...you are able to choose 6 out of 9 offered to you after taking your beauty profile (which you can retake to get different options.) I skip often, just because choosing my samples isn't as exciting to me. Lately, though, they've been getting in some really nice things, and I decided to get my December box!

This month, I received four full sized items (one being a retail travel size), and two deluxe samples. Nice!

Bath & Body Works travel sized shower gel in Pink Chiffon - I felt weird choosing this, because I buy so much from B&BW as it is, but I love the shower gels and it's a great sample to get. Their shower gel contains shea butter and is nice and moisturizing...and Pink Chiffon smells awesome.

mark. Hook Up Lip Gloss in Blow Kisses (red) - These lip glosses are cool because they come with a connector, so you can hook them together. This is nice and sheer and pretty, and I love the small vial - fits in the pocket well.

Whip Hand Cosmetics Loose Pigment Eyeshadow in Green Beret: This sample looks tiny, but a little goes a long way with pigments! The shadow is pretty, it is a nice green with a bit of gold shimmer. Love!

Skinn Cosmetics twin set in Coral Poppy: This is a double ended lip gloss/lipstick in a pretty coral shade! It's a nice balance between pink and orange, and it smells good, like candy.  I love these double ended products, they're so handy.

You Da Balm lip balm in Tea Tree - This is an awesome lip balm! It's made of organic ingredients and essential oils, and contains no petroleum or nasty chemicals. The texture is smooth and buttery, and it's super hydrating. The tea tree scent is definitely there, but not offputting for me. I love this balm.

Macadamia Healing Oil Treatment - I have had my eye on this for a few months, and I'm excited to finally try it. It's a healing hair oil. It does contain some silicones, but I look forward to trying it. It smells nice.

Beauty Army - July

I've been keeping an eye on Beauty Army for a while, and I finally decided to give it a shot this month! Beauty Army is another beauty sample subscription service, but this one is a little different: you fill out a little quiz/profile, and each month, you get to choose 6 samples specific to your quiz/profile out of a selection of 9.  I find myself really enjoying the surprise aspect of the other services, so I wasn't sure I'd like choosing my own. But, I actually ended up enjoying it and am really happy with what I received! Here's my July box.

Cute outer packaging. The shipping was a little slow, but not terrible. I like that they send you an update the day it arrives at your local post office, so you know it will be arriving. I've never had a service do that before.

I looooove this box. It's nice and sturdy and a good little size. Chic and simple, too.

The box opens like this, and the whole inside is cute pink camo. I'll be keeping these boxes to organize my makeup in! The contents are covered in tissue paper and have a little greeting on top.

The first thing I chose was this set of eye candy Eye Coolers. These are little gel filled discs that you chill and place on your eyes. I work third shift, I have major sleep issues, and I also have allergies, so itchy, irritated, and puffy eyes are a big issue for me. These not only promise to soothe the eyes, but they are meant to help with tension and stress headaches as well, which I get often. I am super excited to use these. 

They retail for $12 a pair, so they alone made this box worth it.

This is ClearPrep FX by Cover FX. This is both a matte foundation primer and an acne treatment gel. It is meant to be applied before foundation, but can also be applied before bed to keep skin clear. It is oil free, paraben free, and gluten free. While my skin is normally decent, I do get monthly stress and hormonal breakouts, so I am excited to see what this does for me.

The full size of this product is $39 for one ounce, so this sample has a value of $9.36.

This is CellCeuticals PhotoDefense SPF 55+. It's a hydrating, anti-aging sunscreen and skin protector. I am ridiculously pale and I burn super easily, so good sunscreens are a must for me. I have sensitive skin, as well, so protective products are a must for me. This one promises to strengthen skin's natural defenses. Sounds good to me! 

Two ounces of this retail for $45, so this sample is worth $7.43.

This is Eye & Lip Emulsion by Atzen. It helps fight signs of aging, dark circles, and discoloration around the eyes and dryness, discoloration, wrinkles, and aging on the lips. 

One ounce of this retails for $75, so this sample has a value of $7.50.

This is Crimson Rouge by Besame. It is a cream rouge for the lips and cheeks, and it super pretty and super concentrated. It feels nice and smooth and creamy going on and is easy to blend.

The sample size isn't listed, but the full size is $22. Based on the size, I'd guess the worth has to be at least $2.

And finally, this is the No more Derma Drama acne spot treatment by Clickr. It contains salicylic acid, lactic acid, and an antiseptic to battle acne while still being gentle on the skin. I love that it applies in a click tube with a little brush! Much easier to apply precisely than a normal cream or gel. 

This is a full sized product, and it retails for $20.

In all, I love everything I got in my first Beauty Army box. The packaging is adorable, and I got two full sized products! The value of this box is about $58.29, which is really impressive. I plan to try Beauty Army out for at least a few more months!
